The former galley kitchen’s space was maximized by removing the wall between the kitchen and dining room. Pendant lighting highlights the island, and an open doorway allows for views into a den/playroom at the rear of the house.
The former galley kitchen’s space was maximized by removing the wall between the kitchen and dining room. This allowed for more storage in the new U-shaped plan, with full-height pantry and china display cabinetry at one side and additional counter space at the island.

Drawer with hidden plug for phone chargers
A custom charging station was integrated into a drawer within the island. The electrical outlet incorporates USB ports for easy charging of devices.
The rear of the house transitioned from a series of compartmentalized rooms to an informal, open plan space incorporating a kitchen and dining area. The kitchen features a furniture-like island that coordinates with the finish of the custom dining table.

A recessed alcove was treated with decorative wall paneling and made functional with hooks and shelving.
