Wentworth Wins 2014 Qualified Remodeler Master Design Award

qr-award-cropWentworth is proud to have recently won an award in the Qualified Remodeler Master Design Awards contest. We won a Silver Award in the “Kitchen More than $150,000” category.

Qualified Remodeler offers information on new products and designs and also effective business practices for remodeling companies. It also has tips for kitchen and bathroom design.

Award-Winning Kitchen Project Details

The project that won the award was a kitchen remodel we completed in the Washington, DC neighborhood of Kalorama.

Seeing unlimited potential in the large 1986 home, the homeowners enlisted the help of Wentworth’s design-build team to bring their new home to life.

Working closely with them, we created a design that transformed closed-off rooms into a seamless floor plan. By opening the wall that once divided the formal dining room from the kitchen, we allowed the kitchen to seamlessly flow into a breakfast room and family/TV room. We also incorporated modern necessities, such as:

  • A 36-inch wide cooktop
  • A 36-inch wide counter-depth refrigerator
  • A freestanding 8-foot island with bar sink
  • A dry bar complete with liquor storage

With these features, the new kitchen is both user-friendly and aesthetically pleasing. What was once an unlivable space is now airy, yet cozy—perfect for both casual dinners and formal entertaining.

“ We've done two major projects now with Bruce Wentworth and his team and they do very high-quality work. You pay extra for it, but we've found it to be well worth the extra cost. The quality of the work is outstanding. ”
