Washington, DC Home Remodeling Contractors & Architects

What Sets Wentworth Apart from Other DC, MD & VA Remodeling Companies?

WE’RE UNIQUE

Wentworth is a home remodeling company serving Washington, DC and the surrounding areas in Montgomery County, Maryland and Northern Virginia. A unique collaboration among architects, designers, and craftsmen, our team integrates architecture, interiors, and construction to create award-winning homes with timeless livability. Based on decades of design-build experience, Bruce Wentworth, AIA, a noted architect with a passion for residential remodeling and historical architectural styles, founded Wentworth in 2004. The Wentworth team, based in Chevy Chase, MD, believes that livability and beauty are essential to every design endeavor. This belief has been instrumental in some of the DC metro area’s most recognized home remodels and additions.

Cost-Effective, Comprehensive Design-Build Services

Experienced architects, designers, and skilled craftsmen are the essence of our award-winning Chevy Chase design-build firm. Throughout the process, we are committed to precision, quality aesthetic sense, and an adherence to your needs and budget. From rough framing to finish work, appliance selection to paint colors, the Washington, DC architects and home designers at Wentworth will guide you through every step of the process and manage every detail.

Wentworth’s expert home builders offer architecture, interior design, and construction under one roof. Simply put, we are your single point of contact. We believe in accountability and responsibility every step of the way. Our effective and time-tested process avoids the common pitfall of many home remodeling projects, such as substandard design, poor communication, inaccurate drawings, schedule delays, and cost overruns. Our experienced production manager and lead carpenters oversee every job site and monitor construction progress on a daily basis. This onsite presence means our production manager is able to anticipate problems in the field and communicate them to our in-office team in a timely and efficient manner. When you remodel with Wentworth, you will never have to serve as a mediator between the people you’ve entrusted with your home.

Strategic Design Choices to Fit Every Project

Wentworth’s extensive design-build experience in the DMV area enables us to make strategic design choices that intelligently allocate a client’s budget for the best results. By taking into account the placement of varied building materials, whether it’ll be used on a prominent architectural feature such as a front porch or in a less noticeable area such as a garage, Wentworth can make intelligent use of an expensive product. We have remodeled countless historic homes in the DC area, and our home remodeling architects are exceptionally skilled at updating a home’s design while preserving its original architecture. We have a range of services to cover any need you might have, from standard kitchen or bathroom remodeling to comprehensive home additions or façade enhancement.

The Wentworth Process

Embarking upon a remodeling project can be daunting and overwhelming. That’s why Wentworth takes care of the details, from design all the way through construction. Our proven 10-step process ensures our clients remain informed throughout the course of their projects. The Wentworth process begins with an introduction. We meet with you in your home to view the space and understand your goals and desires for the project. During this meeting, we’ll discuss design concepts and establish a conceptual construction budget. With an agreed-upon conceptual budget, the design phase begins. Our team will measure and photograph your house and begin to develop design solutions. At the design presentation, we present plans, elevations, product samples, and more. Based on your feedback and design preferences, we establish a more accurate budget for the remodeling project and with your approval, commence final construction drawings. At this point, our interior design staff will guide you through the final selection of various products, finishes, and appliances. With all of the final plans and specifications in place, we prepare a fixed-price construction contract. Finally, we procure all necessary approvals and permits and begin construction as scheduled.

Staying in Character with a Sensitive Design

Our commitment to remodeling older homes for contemporary lifestyles is evident in our desire to make fine design, skilled craftsmanship, and livable luxuries accessible to our clients. As the best home builders in Chevy Chase and serving the greater Washington, DC metro area, where modern lifestyles can conflict with the charm of older urban homes, we value a holistic approach to remodeling. Every Wentworth project is sensitive to the history and design of a home, as well as its surrounding neighborhood. Wentworth knows how to appropriately modernize an older home while remaining sympathetic to its historical character. Our seamless integration of the old with the new and an unparalleled attention are what make clients choose us time and again for their home renovation projects.
